Health & safety legislation was introduced to protect employees
in the workplace against ill health, injury or death and there are
a number of key legal points to which an employer must conform. These
include carrying out risk assessments, displaying a health & safety
law poster and providing free health & safety training and supervision. However, the most important action required under health & safety
regulations is that every employer in Great Britain is required to
have a health & safety policy in place and a manual which, although
a legal document, explains in simple terms about your responsibilities
to your staff while they are at work. Why do you need a health & safety policy? Having a comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date policy and manual
in place not only ensures you are compliant with current legislation,
but it also could help you avoid costly staff absences through injury
or ill health. In 2008/9, key annual Health and Safety Executive (HSE)
figures show that 24.6 million days were lost through work-related
ill health and 4.7 million work days were lost due to workplace injury*. Can you afford not to act? To ensure you are fully compliant with the latest regulations, we offer a complete Health & Safety package. Here’s what is included:
