BREEAM In-Use
Introduction
BREEAM In-Use helps building managers reduce the running costs and improve the environmental performance of existing buildings.
BREEAM In-Use allows building managers to determine their current Asset, Building Management and Organisational performance.
The Built Enviroment
Only a small proportion of current stock is of new build. There is therefore plenty of opportunity to make significant environmental improvements to existing buildings. This helps meet Government targets for carbon reduction.
What are the Benefits of BREEAM In-Use?
- Reduces running and maintenance costs
- Encourages best practice
- Improves ‘Green Image’
- Benchmarking
- Reduces environmental impact of buildings
- Demonstrates commitment to corporate social responsibility
- Genuine badge of proven sustainability
- A high BREEAM In-Use asset score could allow building owners to charge higher rent as tenants may have low electricity/gas bills as a result of an energy efficient building
- It is a tool that can be used on a global level.
